Fire partitions of different types
When installing fire-fighting structures, the requirements of SNIPS 21-01-97 and 2.01.02-85 must be strictly met. This will increase the safety of buildings and will prevent the rapid spread of flames and toxic combustion products.Gorenje
Appointment
The need to use partitions is established by federal legislation (FZ-123 of 2008). They are used in educational and healthcare institutions, enterprises and warehouses, cultural and sports facilities. They are intended for dividing corridors and rooms into separate sections, isolated in case of fire.Installation of partitions is allowed up to 6 m high, if this value is exceeded, fire walls are built. If it is necessary to install a door, its durability cannot be lower than that of a partition. The mandatory intersection of suspended ceilings is provided so that the space above them is blocked.
Types
All structures that ensure fire safety have different fire resistance and are divided according to this indicator into 2 types:
1. Resists for at least 45 minutes; industrial partitions with EI-1 values also belong to this class.
2. Characterized by the ability to resist flame for 15 minutes. The letter E defines the duration of resistance to fire without destroying the product, and the symbol I shows the loss of thermal insulation properties.
Transparent barriers characterize EIW-45 and EIW-15. Where the sign W denotes the thermal stability of the glass.
Kinds
Depending on the materials used and design features, fire barriers are divided into 3 types.
1. Frame products have a metal or aluminum bearing base. Used for cladding: sheet steel; fire-resistant plates (magnesium or plasterboard); sometimes sheathed with lumber impregnated with flame retardant. A layer of non-combustible rock mineral wool is arranged inside. If the partitions are mounted from heat-resistant glass on an aluminum frame, then polymer or helium fillers are placed in the space between them.
2. The panel view provides for the presence of guide elements on which fire sandwich panels are mounted.
3. Frameless variants are performed using binding solutions made of bricks or partition blocks (vermiculite, foam concrete, arbolite or glass).
The installation of engineering systems (electrical wiring, ventilation or pipes) is not allowed inside any obstacles.
Required documentation
The developed variants of partitions are necessarily tested in the laboratory for the duration of resistance to an open flame and the heat resistance of the elements used. Resistance is taken into account by the material in the structure, which has the lowest index.
According to the results of the test, a certificate of conformity of type 1 or 2 is issued. In addition, each barrier produced must have a passport in which all fire-fighting characteristics are marked with an indication of the assigned safety class.
If the location of the partitions is designed correctly and executed taking into account the requirements of regulatory documents approved by the government, the maximum level of personnel safety and the safety of existing inventory and equipment will be achieved.
